The Roots retire from touring

Last night in Chicago The Roots announced that they will be retiring from touring effective March 2009. The move is being made to accommodate their new Night Gig as the house band for Jimmy Fallon when he replaces Conan O’Brien as the host of Late Night in March of 2009. Conan will be moved to the Tonight Show.

I guess you can't pass a gig like that up. but i dont find jimmy fallon that funny. oh well. I've seen The Root live 2wice so at least i have that. . . .

They were injured severely in a place crash, and 4 others died. Shit is wild. I hope Mr Barker is straight, and his partner too (i guess).

Neveruary 43rd

It looks like Neveruary 43rd got a little closer. I mean with Saigon being released from that bogus ass Atlantic deal can't we expect a release via some indie distribution. Maybe, maybe not. Rappers/MCs like Saigon are good for the game. He has a message (sometimes) and can set the mic on fire, so of course they'd try and shelf his life. I REALLY hope The Greatest Story Never Told (foresight? i think so) gets some sort of official release, but I'm not holding my breath.

As you should know by now The Cool Kids are finally releasing something OFFICIAL. Their official EP The Bake Sale hits iTunes on May 20 and hits stores June 10th. I don't buy digital music, so I will have to wait a lil longer. It will feature songs like 88, and a couple from Cool Ass Ninjas mixtape. SO, this may not be new new but its official.

Rap cats on 'roids. Wow. Too bad it don't make their flows better. HHDX posted a article on names of rappers/producers/acter/sanga's that may have used/received HGH and/or steriods. Among others Timbo, 50, Tyler Perry, and Mary j blige(wtf!?!?) were named. Its not official but this is a head scratcher. I wonder why Dr. Dre wasn't named?
