Underneath your(my) skin again (c) Kenna
The two songs that have had my listening attention for the past week have been Cuddle Bums and Love Thirst.
Cuddle Bums by 88-keys ft Tanya Morgan is a lil ditty bout hittin it and then shakin the spot when the girl wants to lay up, I’m sure we can all relate to this some way. My favorite verse is the first, Donwill’s, with lines like “we cut buddies and cuddlin confusing what doin’…get the dick and let me leave” you know he’s all business. Also cold lines like, ”my bed’s mad comfortable and spacious as I make it, you can hog your own blankets”. I know this song has been out for a minute and I saw Von Pea's sig on okp but oh well the shit is tight. Not to mention the genius sample of the blues/country sainga Bonnie Raitt.
As for Love Thirst By Jean Grae, it’s a re-mixed (better mix) version of a song from Jeanius. So maybe he new cd may be the new/old Jeanius or that’s just a leak of a better version of the song. Anywho it’s awesome. My favorite line is “I’m in love thirst baby you’re the quencher/maybe we should be taping so you can remember”. Jean gets down! 9th wonder really kills the beat

The British are coming (c) Paul Revere
No this isn't about the fruit who yelled that shit. It's about perhaps the dopest song ever!! "Paul Revere" by everyone's favorite hiphop jews(idk if they are but lookup the last names and tell me they don't at least fit the part), The Beastie Boys. The beat is ridiculous, if that shit came out today(which it did by way of that make ur ears bleed song "so krispy") it'd get mad spins. It's nuts! And in the ever classic spirit of storytelling, the song tells of the fictional meeting of the trio. With lyrics that would give today's "top" rap artists the sour/gas face, becuz by comparions today's artist are nothin more than gimmick dancers and "party/club" songs. As I digress, basically this song is top 10 all-time and I always gets me hype. Have a safe day and don't forget to always superman your hoe and jock on a hater.

Do You Want More?!!!??!
the hardest working band in the industry (at least hiphop cuz I'm not up on bands like that). And ?uestlove IS the hardest working man in the whole industry. Do these guys ever sleep? Maybe, but i doubt it. They just wrapped up some shows in Japan, where i believe they said they previewed a bunch of new shit. FUCK THAT!! I saw them live(TWICE!!!) and no new ish, now their show is the dopest, but i want new shit!. Anyway, i wonder what exactly did they do and what it sounds like. The "Please Don't Go" demo version has been around for a minute, and i love it. And word is they have been doin the song in their set too. IDK but I'm just ready for Rising Down.

Jay Electronica where are u?
this dude was supposed to drop Act: II on Christmas, but to date...NOTHING!. I'm getting restless. The style wars EP and Act: I was dope so now we're stuck waiting. To make matters worse, WMD has a bunch of new shit by Mr. Electron. He also went on gile peterson show and previewed new songs and there's a sampler of Act: II floating around the net. So i say EFF that i want my Act:II now!

Phonte best kept secret since the aids cure (c) Phonte
so if you don't know(which I'm sure you do), Phonte does not get the attention he deserves (shit Little Brother for that matter). I mean everyone makes their top MC/rapper list but i never hear Tay's name in the convo (or black thought for that matter, more on that later). Now if you can throw a local off the corner cornball in the argument or weezy, then Tiggalo is a must. I'm not gonna elaborate on extended metaphors, or punchlines, or delivery because I'm not gonna write a whole book, but suffice it to say not many are fuckin with Taygravy. For reference I'll hit ya'll wit Mr. Coleman's verse from "Yellow Lines" found on the Cunninlyguists "Dirty Acres".( if u don't know Phonte is on the 3rd verse). Which, imo, may be the best from '07 (that and 3 stacks verse on AOSTP4, too close to call for me)

Ms. Morgan u more than just the average bitty (c) Von Pea
I don't know about you, but I can't wait for Brooklynati. The sophomore effort of the IllWill(Ilyas and Donwill) fused with Von Pea and a dash of brickbeats group that goes by the unusual name of Tanya Morgan. If you haven't heard Moonlighting then you have been in a coma the likes of which should not be seen. They have a slew of releases upcoming by way of mixtapes and solo joints. Now it may sound a little amateur-ish as far as mixing but the rhymes and feel are pro-fee-esh-in-al ((c) weezy). My suggestion is get like clinton sparks and Get Familiar! Cuz these dudes is ill (no pun intended). Check there blogs (Hit the Lainks) and website (tanyamorgan.com) and their myspace's donwill, ilyas and von pea.

ur flow's 'brain on drugs' mines rap on steriods (c) Jigga
Rap cats on 'roids. Wow. Too bad it don't make their flows better. HHDX posted a article on names of rappers/producers/acter/sanga's that may have used/received HGH and/or steriods. Among others Timbo, 50, Tyler Perry, and Mary j blige(wtf!?!?) were named. Its not official but this is a head scratcher. I wonder why Dr. Dre wasn't named?
